Interview with Zareefa Arije (@zeearije)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

We started a YT channel to bring awareness to interracial couples especially in the South Asian and African community.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

After 10 years of being diagnosed with infertility, I was able to not only have 1 child but 2 children. We have fought for our relationship and have so many couples reach out to us and let us know they now have the courage to tell their families about their significant other.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

Follow your “why”. If you have a strong enough passion and reason for doing what you do, then you will never burn out. Your fire is your reason and if it means a lot to you it will never burn out.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

My husband and I are a pact. We are each other’s strength. If I am losing my drive, he is there to keep me focused and vice versa. He pushes me when my world feels like it is coming to an end.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

We have helped several couples derive a plan to help with infertility and also come out about their relationships.

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

“When it feels scary to jump, that is exactly when you jump. Otherwise, you end up staying in the same place your whole life.” J.C. Chandor

This is the exact quote that pushed me to pursue Youtube full time. I quit my job and started vlogging and blogging full time.
