Interview with Shawn Renfro (@shawnrofficial)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

Well, I’ve always been one for an opportunity. That’s what kind of made me gullible to a lot of scams. I came across this opportunity once. It was presented to me. I didn’t think much of it. I really pushed it to the side. Then it came back around to me and I actually looked into it and I actually took a meeting with the at the time SVP of the company, Jonathan Mason. He sat me down and broke the business down to me in 10 minutes. All I saw was an opportunity for me to help more people than I was doing on my own, building a brand building a business. So I got started in the life insurance industry. Ever since then, I’ve been given an opportunity to help as many families as I can. Set up their families’ legacies. While educating families on topics we are not taught in schools or in the household.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

I was new to the company, probably within my first month. Co-owner and board chairman of our company Marlene Gaytan was coming to visit in town. Now our SVP, Jonathan Mason ran a Competition to see who can get a sit-down mentorship session with her. With me not thinking about that Mentorship I was thinking I need to make an impact. I began to run. I began to produce numbers and doing what I needed to do to qualify. I ended up being one of the tops in the competition. So I did get that sit down being me and one other person. That’s it, that was a breakfast mentorship session. We went to a meeting and after that meeting. J Mason threw a surprise competition out of nowhere. He says whoever produces this and that gets another sit down for dinner. With me not thinking, I’m still running since breakfast and I end up getting that sit down as well. Later that night they noticed I was in both sessions. That I was the only one that was in both sessions. They invited me out for cigars and we went and had a great time and Marlene Gaytan really broke the business down to a level that anyone could understand. Anyone should be able to dominate in this business. I had gained knowledge not knowing that I was gonna win anything. I just running and doing my job. I gained knowledge from someone. Is bringing in over 100,000 a month on a consistent basis?

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

Remember why you got started in the business. Find something in your life and latch onto it that you know needs to change. So every time that you think about quitting or giving up. You always think about why you got started into the business and it gives you that motivation to keep going. Keep things fresh, get uncomfortable, find out what makes you uncomfortable, and dive into it headfirst. A lot of people burn out because they’re consistently doing the same thing, and it’s not getting them anywhere. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly, and expecting different results. Lastly, ask for help. Never be afraid to ask for help. A lot of people believe they can do everything on their own. Asking for help opens up a door of a range of options that can better your business.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

Absolutely, Jason Sedaa is one of the reasons I’m still in the business. I had some personal issues going on. I took some time away, but Jason kept me in tune with my team. Jason kept me in the loop with what’s going on in the company and the latest developments. Jason was the person that helped me get back into the business and get back to where I needed to be. We talk almost every day about what I need to do, what needs to be done, and how can I help my team grow. Jason has been the backbone of my team. He’s been the person that’s always been there to make it happen for me. It is truly an amazing feeling to have someone who’s a multi 6 figure earner. Have your back and do whatever it takes to help your team and your business grow.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

Especially through these tough times, we’re going through now and due to COVID-19, this business has given me the opportunity to help countless lives all over the US. Give families that Peace of Mind. Let them know that they have safe money and that everything is gonna be OK during these tough times. Also, giving people who have lost their jobs, the opportunity to build and become entrepreneurs and create a source of income that they’ve never thought was a possibility. So if you’re looking for a career in a recession-proof business. Where you can make over 100k a month just by helping families protect their legacy I’m your guy.

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

“One moment of pain is worth a lifetime of glory.” By: (Louis Zamperini) From my favorite movie Unbroken. I was at a point where I have tried everything and nothing was falling through. I felt as if I have tried everything to be successful but success didn’t want me. I found my self alone with no one I felt I could confide in. I picked my head up and kept going. Now I run Multiple Businesses with a literally millionaire support system.
