Interview with Rehab Bin Sheban Almheiri (@rehab_almehairi)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

I have also been dreaming to be in the media. Ever since I was a child. Although I have been working in other fields and was asking God for the right path and to choose what is right for me. God gave me the most beautiful gift to be able to shine on screen and to be an idol to many in the gulf region. I believed in myself and I’m so grateful to be able to give and help lots of people learn and grow in their paths.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

My first appearance was a big challenge. I had to work in the Dubai film festival and interview lots of celebrities from the Arab region and also Hollywood and Bollywood. My previous manager challenged me and I’m so grateful that I was able to handle it and to succeed in my first appearance on screen as a presenter. I can still remember I was camera shy but I challenged myself and I’m so proud that I did not refuse the offer and went ahead with it to be who I am today.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

To always believe in themselves and to believe that they can and they will. Fear is your biggest enemy. If you fear and doubt yourself, you won’t be able to grow and to succeed. If you fail that does not mean you can’t succeed. Failure leads us to success. We learn from our experiences.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

Yes, of course! My father is an example of success to me, I have learned so much from him. He is self-made I have always been looking up to him and learning from him. He once told me your success and growth come with experience and never say I can’t. Always say I can and I will. I have always kept that in mind and that’s what kept me moving and standing on my feet and I can’t thank him enough for supporting me in each and every step.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

Yes always. I always post motivational quotes and also videos to bring out the best in people. Success comes when it’s shared when you help people. You shine when others shine. I also advise young girls and other women to bring out the best in them. By helping you rise and shine.

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

“The past is where you learned the lesson, the future is where you apply the lesson”. I can relate to this quote a lot. I have been kept in situations in the past where I would’ve easily surrendered to life circumstances. But I chose to learn from each and every lesson and I never regret my mistakes in the past because if I didn’t learn from my past experiences I wouldn’t have been where I am in the present and hopefully in the coming future.
