Interview with Michael Garcia (@shotbymgf)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

Took a trip to Atlanta, connected with brands such as Grand Hustle that led to more and more opportunities. From there I kept aiming to connect with bigger and better people and names.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

The most interesting thing I think that happened, was me getting my first budgeted music video gig overseas in Turkey!

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

Aim to create something new always. Add a twist to what you did last to push for greatness.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

I’m thankful for all those who helped in any way during my journey. It is not easy to jump into this industry with little to no connections and tools.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

I feel as though music videos give people a lot of sense of emotion. It can either get them hyped up, sad, scared, motivated, etc. Many people anticipate seeing the visuals of their favorite songs as well. There is a pleasure to entertaining people with visuals.

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

Sometimes you gotta do what’s best for you, no matter who you hurt.
