Interview with Maité González Pistiner (@maipistiner)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

I always wanted to be a journalist. I work in media since 2013 and ever since then I am continuously improving myself. Especially in digital media, where competition is tremendously high. Currently, I’m working on AMERICA TV, One of the main tv networks in Argentina. I work as a host.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

Since working on digital content I usually get messages from brands and people asking me to manage their accounts since they like my storytelling and way of communicating. I later have to tell them that that’s not what I do but still, they are thankful for my advice.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

They need to start producing their own content. Working in media is easier today than it was 10 or 20 years ago because of social media. They need to take advantage of that and start working on independent and small projects that are needed to increase their own personal marketing.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

My actual boss at America tv always believed in me, especially at first when I wasn’t known in the media industry. Still, he allowed me to be myself and that is not something easy to get.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

I really enjoy working with brands that help communities and have human values. I will definitely consider working on a project that has a human value on it. It’s not all about selling.

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

Step by step. Sometimes working on media can be overwhelming. Especially if you start comparing yourself to others. Just work on daily tasks that in the long term will take you to your goal.
