Interview with Leah Israel (@iamprincesslayah)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

Since a young girl, I have always aspired to be a star. My friends and family believed in me and motivated me to be the best that I can be. I found my love for music at the age of 12 and discovered that I had singing talent. Being from New Orleans, my family had a very strong musical liking so music was always around me. I grew up in music. I realized that my talent could change people’s lives so I continued to perfect my musical craft in hopes of one day, changing the entire world.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

The most interesting thing that has happened to me during my musical journey was meeting and becoming like family to someone that I looked up to when I was a kid. Rapper/actor Lil Zane. When I was little I loved his music and movies, he was a big star in those times and still is in my eyes. He has taught me a lot and molded me into a better artist.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

Don’t do too much, take your time, don’t rush your success; know your limits, but always strive for the best.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

Yes, Lil Zane. I met him 3 years ago doing music and he’s a big inspiration to me. He’s taught me a lot and has developed me into being a better artist. He’s my friend, my brother and I appreciate him for seeing a star in me.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

I have used my success to bring greatness to the world by sharing inspiring songs and messages in my music.

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

Don’t try to impress, be impressive.

When you try too hard to impress someone you may not get your desired result, just be you, be natural and let people love you for you.
