Interview with Janice Danielle Jones (@jjismusiq_)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

I was born and raised in Houston Tx. I started singing when I was old enough to talk. I started singing and performing at my granny’s church Mountain Top S. E. Ministries, I started writing music when I was 14. Music has always been my passion deep down, so I need the world to hear my music.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

The most interesting thing that happened since I’ve been doing music is the creation of my music I can literally come up with a song of the spot! I write all the time but I freestyle in the studio!

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

Stay surrounded by ppl who will always push you to be great, ppl that will motivate you, be positive, and also Never give up!

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

My family but mainly my granny and my papa have pushed me, taught me lessons, was very involved in my education, and music as well. My papa ended up passing, and that made my granny push me even more, she built me a studio at her church, and told me she wants to see me make it before she goes because she believes I have the voice and the talent to make it and be a star! But of course, financially it’s going to be hard but my granny always tried to find a way to help me and that’s why I love her so much. I want to be able to take care of my granny and my family.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

Yes, I’ve touched ppl with my music, and they’re just waiting on me to drop some music.

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

The most alluring thing a woman can have is confidence – Beyoncé

Beyoncé inspires me because she’s all about women empowerment and she’s my #1 favorite artist! But I chose this quote because when you listen to my music it can be relatable, you’ll be able to feel where I’m coming from. I used to be bullied an I lacked confidence but when I realized music was the key, it’s like I unlocked that alluring but positive attitude. I found out that I am very beautiful, strong, powerful in my own way, and confident.
