Interview with Jamaine Carey (@jamainecarey)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

I was a chef working 65 hours a week 6 days a week and I hated my job with a passion but I wanted a better life. I wanted to give back to my mother so I looked into selling my own clothing brand which didn’t happen but it led me to watch videos about selling on amazon and that was when I invested into being an amazon business seller and taught myself from watching videos on YouTube I had my last £770 to use as all my hard-working wages went into studying at University which I just couldn’t keep up with and then I turned my £770 investment into to date 4.8 million just selling on Amazon within 19 months.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

The most interesting story would be turning my last £770 into a 4.9 million online sales business selling the most normal products such as mosquito bracelets and cotton swabs.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

I would suggest to always reinvest in your product such as stock and bettering your product images and marketing and don’t get thrown off by the money and spend it all on things that can wait.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

The main person is Max his social is known as thatboyyouhate he is a family member who has always given me motivational advice and he’s almost a billionaire himself so I really take note whenever we speak and listen to all his motivational speeches and guidance whenever I need some advice I can call him anytime.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

I used to do an amazon seller course which I ran for an entire year giving hundreds of people the knowledge to start up an amazon seller business themselves a lot of them have quit the jobs they were doing and now are full-time Amazon sellers.

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

A life lesson quote would be to seek success and happiness at no expense to others. And I came up with that and I preach that throughout because in 2014 I appeared on a tv show called therichkidsofinstagram and I spent everything I had just to make others happy but I wasn’t happy in the end so I used that quote and it always reminds me to never do anything for somebody else’s happiness and never lose focus.
