Interview with Demitri Gordon (@demdawg_)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

Ever since I can remember music has been an important aspect of my life, whether it was listening to music, writing music, or simply dancing to the various songs playing on the airwaves! My love for music brought me to Wexford Collegiate High School where I created and performed various musical plays and led the school dances.

As I continued on my path I realized that I had developed a skill to play music and mix songs from many genres which brought me to my passion for being a DJ! A self-taught DJ that has been inspired by various Toronto DJ artists and has developed a household name known as DemDawg Entertainment.

My DJ career has landed me an array of opportunities from playing at various schools through the TDSB, to University parties throughout the GTA, corporate events, weddings, Sweet 16 parties, club/lounge events, boat cruises, and personal in-home parties to name a few!

My goal is to bring the party to you and unforgettable dance experience! As a DJ I am satisfied when the guest is dancing all night and the music brings a smile to their face, so if that’s your wish, contact DemDawg Entertainment today and watch the musical experience come alive!

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

The most interesting thing that’s happened to me on this experience is that nothing has happened interest yet, there’s a lot of more work that needs to be done and I’m going to continue to work hard and reach for my goals.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

Keep going, we only live once I really believe in that term, so as people we need to stop being lazy and get up and work for whatever we need, I tell my colleagues all the time don’t give up, keep pushing, you’ve gone too far to just throw everything under the table, that’s my motivation speech for them.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

I would like to thank all my fans because without them I wouldn’t be here where I am today, making jokes, djing, doing music I love all of it and it makes people happy so that makes me happy, so big shout-out to everyone who supports me on my journey to success!

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

By making others laugh when they’re feeling down, a lot of youth look up to me, some will ask me for advice on certain things or they will let me know when they’re sad, watching a video I create puts a smile on there face so I have to be great full for that. 🙏🏾

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

“Motivation Over Determination” in order to get the task done you need that motivation to kick in always and help you push your drive to be determined.
