Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
Growing up I’ve always wanted a way to make an impact on the people around me and believed that basketball could be a vehicle to do so.
Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?
My second year as a professional. I played in Saudi Arabia for Ohod in Medina. The season was a rollercoaster. After my first game, the coach didn’t like how I played and for the rest of the season, he actively tried to replace me. He brought in guys that I would have to play in a head to head battle for the spot on the team. By the end of the season, management had decided to fire him and we went on the win the championship.
Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?
Stay focused and stay hungry. Don’t let any circumstance make you feel like you’re not good enough or that things are far fetched. Anything’s possible.
None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?
My shooting coach Derek Bracy has been there for me since the day he met me. He’s much more than just a shooting coach to me, he’s more like a friend and mentor. I could never repay him for all the knowledge he’s shared and the support he’s given me.
How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?
I know I’ve been blessed beyond measure. I let that show with my kind spirit. I’m genuine and always positive. People who I come in contact with share some of that same energy.
Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?
What’s for you will always be for you and what isn’t just won’t. When you want something so bad and it doesn’t happen you can easily get down on yourself and not understand why. This quote helps me deal with defeat and empowers me to stay positive and hopeful.
