Interview with Aziel Melek (@starkingazi)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

What brought me to become a marketing consultant and social media influencer was the joy of assisting people in expanding their business and helping develop brands and increase revenues. Because of my travels and adventures across the world I’ve gained quite a few skills that provide a one of a kind experience and product.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

The most interesting thing that has happened to me since I’ve begun would have to be, gaining clientele and expanding my revenue all through word of mouth. When I began, I thought I would need to utilize more of my own marketability to gain access to the clientele and job opportunities. Once I began with the first client than from there, I was referred to the client’s friends so on and so fourth. Before I knew it after a year, I had a solid clientele base.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

I would definitely suggest anyone looking to embark in the marketing industry or even influencers to be sure they put all of their energy into their goals and passion. Be consistent and never place yourself in a box always be willing to explore and expand your skillset and be open to criticism and ideas from your peers. It’s great to set up feedback for clients to find out what you should work on or improve.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

One person that helped me get to where I am in my father. For it’s his connections and relationships that afforded me the chance to meet people I would’ve never seen. Because he worked hard to build himself and maintained good relationships and connections it was a much smoother transition for me into my profession.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

With my success, I stand by a pay it forward code. In a sense, I give help where help is needed. I donate my time and resources to those in need. From my 8 years of blood donations to food drives and disaster relief funds. I believe that the blessing of being successful is only appreciated through gratitude and the process of giving back to the community and to those in need.

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

“Shortcuts make long delays.” J.R.R. Tolkien since I first heard it from lord of the rings it stuck with me. Funny thing is I learned this lesson the hard way. One day while walking home from my school I decided to take a path that as kids we knew was not a safe place to go but it was also the quickest way back to the neighbourhood. So, I crossed through the field and the woods not paying attention to the signs or the fact the path was blocked for a reason. So, I continue along the path not really paying attention to the fact the path was curving into terrain that was no longer being maintained and there was a stream from the previous flooding that cut through the main road. Needless to say, I ended up walking in circles for almost 2 hours for nothing trying to use a shortcut that apparently was out of service. From that lesson, after making it back home sweating and stinky I decided to stick with the quote and add it to my permanent list of morals and values.
