Interview with Ashlyn Kapriella (@x.ash_xo)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

I’ve always been a big fan of music and instruments. One day I decided to play the piano and sing the first song I created back in 2011 called “Love is”. I enjoyed singing that song every day because it brought me peace and happiness. Every time I had an idea I would write it in my music notebook.

I’ve been singing since I was 12 years old. I created my first single called “Feels so good” in 2016 and the songs had over 900 views on Youtube. I would always take a tape recorder to record my voice & search up beats to go along with it to help practice getting my vocals together. I’d never thought I’d keep going with my music but I did.

This year I released 2 EPS “Roses & You” Pt. 1 & “Roses & You” Pt. 2.

My most played song is “Dancing in the sunset”. & “You & Me”.

I am currently working on an album that will be released in July of this year.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

Ever since I started my music career I became more opened and understanding with myself. I actually started to sing in front of my family. I was scared to sing in front of them because I was thinking that they were going to make fun of my voice. But turned out that they loved my voice and they said that I needed to continue with my career & show the world what I got because I have talent in me.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

Be consistent – follow-through.

Be diligent – hardworking & Produce quality – time applies/ money applied.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

My grandparents helped me to get to where I am today. They’ve always pushed me to keep singing and just do what I love the most which are singing and writing songs.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

My music can help people that are going through some things I went through in my life. It’s a message to let them know that they are not alone.

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

“Never say never, if you do what you love don’t give up” – Justin Bieber

This quote definitely inspired me to never give up on my singing career. There were times where I wanted to just quit because life gets in the way sometimes. I kept pushing through and doing what I love.
