Interview with Alex Palou (@alexpalou)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

I have been racing all my life. Started go-karts when I was 5 years old and had really good success in Spain which allowed me to move to European and World Championships in Go-Karts.

Finished 2nd in European Championship.

Finished 4th in World Championship.

When I was 15, had the opportunity to move to single-seaters in Europe and had really good success in Formula 3, GP3, GP2, and Super Formula.

In 2020 I made it to the NTT IndyCar Series, the premier level of open-wheel series in North America.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

Had the opportunity to live in Europe as I’m Spanish, then I moved to Japan to race in Super Formula and I’m currently living in the United States of America as IndyCar is happening all around the USA.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

Be persistent, the racing world is really tough some times but with hard work and perseverance, everything is possible.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

I had lots of people and companies that helped me during all my racing career, but I would say my dad has always been my number 1 supporter and mentor.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

My goal is to show all the young kids that achieving dreams is possible.

I’m not coming from a wealthy family, so everything I achieved is thanks to all the people that helped me along the way while I was making sure I was working 100% of the time towards my racing career.

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

“Go One More”.

It’s a quote and at the same time, it’s a mindset. Helps me push always one more rep, one more mile, one more time.

How can our readers follow you on social media?

They can follow me on Instagram, Twitter, and my website.
