Interview with Alejandro Rodriguez Jr (@alejandrorodriguezjr)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

I began playing football (soccer) at the age of four due to the passions of my father for the game. I was a natural. Definitely, something I have done in a past life if you believe in those things ha-ha. But I used that craft and my dream for greatness to continue to evolve as a person which led to me evolving as a player. I decided to dream the biggest dream in all of my paths. I am also an entrepreneur I have had a water filtration firm for about 4 years now. I began at the age of 23. I enjoy success from different avenues. I believe that ultimately success is all the same. Perhaps not the glory but the success part is defined by our ability to perform with ease and clarity.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

In football, I have had many interesting stories the same as in business. In football-playing professional football in Ghana and experiencing life in Africa. As well as living in the middle east for about a year in 2019 was definitely an interesting story on embracing a completely different culture. I met Beautiful people in Qatar. And I am grateful for the time there. I also had the opportunity to meet a couple of childhood footballers I looked up to like Samuel Eto and Wesley Schneider.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

Take every day a day at a time. Dream as far as you can dream. Follow up on your vision with discipline. Laugh and enjoy every step on the way. And surround yourself with dreamers who are not afraid to have their dreams come true. For life is a journey not a destination. And success is not an act but a habit.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

Absolutely. I have had several mentors throughout my life. Including several professional footballers that have coached me before becoming a professional. Some of the names are Luis Carlos Perea two time world cup participant, Luis Calix, Stefano Agresti ex Juventus. As well as a sports therapist known as Ronnie who worked on Jean Kelly, and was known by Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson, and many other celebrities. But to be completely honest with you. What has had the greatest impact in my life has been wisdom and getting to know my self, how my mind works, how to become peaceful. Those things have led me to success.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

I use my success to bring wisdom, clarity, and Discipline into the world. To share that all dreams are possible and that with hard work, wisdom, discipline, and laser focus any dream can be yours. For dreams don’t know any size rather, dreams know principals.

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment”.- Ralph Waldo Emerson. This quote is special to me because I fought to become who I am today. In moments in my life where I lacked the necessary wisdom and experience to become what I became. I had to preserve with nothing but feeling to not become what I don’t want to become due to external pressure/fear.
