Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

I established a group called UAE mums on Fb to bring the community together. I wanted to provide a platform that could be used by women from different backgrounds for various reasons. A place where they could get services without spending money and get support. Through the group, I organized several charity events, traditional events, community events. I connected people and provided them opportunities to work from home, counseling, workshops, and even arranged exhibitions where they could showcase their handmade stuff. My work caught the attention of the media soon. I was interviewed on Tv twice. Radio twice and my efforts featured in the leading newspaper in UAE too. Since I was always passionate about food alongside I started blogging about food. The winch was the fame and name of UAE mums that a lot of people later formed groups using the same name. In UAE (Dubai) I am well known amongst the Pakistani and Indian community for the various events I have organized. (Newspaper article available)

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

One day I posted on FB that I loved fritters and I could never get them right. The next few days I kept receiving fritters by followers at my doorstep. The thought that someone cared so much makes all the efforts worth a while. Though not interesting of the stories that touched my life was when someone told me they were about to give up on life and were really at rock bottom but looked forward to my stories and posts and it kept them going. It made them think that if an ordinary housewife could achieve all this they could too.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

I would say passion is everything. If you are passionate you can achieve anything in life at the same time do not let your passion turn into an obsession.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

I am grateful to so many different people but in particular “Smitha Vinod and Asima Pasha” two women who believed in me and helped me whenever I needed it. Smitha is from India and I am from Pakistan. The arch rivalry between the countries is well known. So is the gate between Many due to religious beliefs. When I started she faced a lot of opposition after our first newspaper article was published that she was helping me. She paid no heed and continued the support. She was my go-to person for any technical difficulty or if I didn’t understand the trends or hashtags etc.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

Yes, I have conducted several charity drives in Dubai, helped with wedding funds, groceries, and currently distributed sanitizers in my community ( newspaper article available on that).

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

My favourite quote is – Do what makes you happy. I started the community group based on that. I wanted to make others happy as that brought me happiness. While many said that it was a waste of time and energy but I am where I am because I tried to make others happy. When you do what makes you happy you perform better.
