Interview with Aaron Petersen (@aaronpandapetersen)

ARON....3

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

Watching martial arts movies as a child is what got me into martial arts in the beginning, Once I became successful in martial arts and as an entrepreneur, my next thought was to produce movies.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

I stumbled across a filmmaker in Chicago when I was looking into the origins of mixed martial arts and he was researching a guy called Count Dante who held the first mixed martial arts tournament back in the 60s. We struck up a friendship and started Straight Out of A Comic Book LLC to produce movies.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

Go to bed by 9 pm every night, work out 1hr at least 3 times a week, and never give up.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

In each different area of my life, there has been somebody to help me, in martial arts, it is Daniel Burzzotta the first Royce Gracie Blackbelt in Europe who took me under his wing and beat the crap out of me until I got good. In business, it’s my Business partner Ryan who was already super successful and mentored me since the age of 29 and is like the older brother I never had. In the film it’s Floyd he is old school Chicago and has stories for days.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

I have built schools in India and funded orphanages for many years.

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

You have to know that people you help will not always be grateful down the line and you have to decide for yourself when you help somebody if you are doing it because you want gratitude or because its the right thing to do because you are a good person. If you expect gratitude every time you do a good thing you will spend a lot of time being disappointed.
