Interview with Harrison Perks (@harrisonperks)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

I was a professional musician in my early 20s and wanted to learn how to record artists and develop artists. Now I am a professional producer and mixing engineer. I am signed to warm audio as a producer and engineer. I run and own one of the most established and busy studios in the south UK, HP Music.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

My most interesting story in general. I work with so many different artists and different genres. I think the interesting thing is that every production or every artist I work with is different.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

To keep learning. If you keep learning and create a good working reputation, it will always pay off.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

I went to France for a master class with Chris Lord Alge with mix with the masters. Even though I didn’t stay the whole time I learnt a lot throughout it and got told to just be myself and produce as myself.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

I help artists reach their dreams regardless of how small or big they are.

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

You can have all the gear but no atmosphere. A quote from a signed artist to myself about my sessions and studio. It helps to have a great atmosphere to bring the best out of the artist.

How can our readers follow you on social media?
