One of the most under-appreciated band of artists is singers. There are some faces which represent the industry- Beyoncé, Ed Sheeran, Selena Gomez, Katy Perry, Troye Sivan, Shawn Mendes, Eminem some bands- Maroon 5, Fall Out Boy, BTS, Coldplay, Little Mix, etc., but all of these and other famous and well-known musicians are barely one-tenth of the artists who are spending day after day on their art. There are so many who are putting their art out but aren’t fortunate enough to appear on shows, scouted by agencies through other means due to various factors. Just because someone hasn’t reached the peak of their fame doesn’t mean their music is any less than those who peaked early in life. In this industry, one-third of your success is your talent, one-third is from your connections and the last third is attributed to your luck. This is why fields like these although are rewarding, are also unpredictable and not for everyone. Very few people are self-made- most people have their record labels to credit their success to. However, that doesn’t cheapen the work of these artists who are working independently and only on their merit.

Artists create their work to express themselves, incite the same emotions in their readers/ watchers/ listeners, and successfully open a new platform for expression. The popularity of an artist doesn’t reflect their stories and expressions therefore we must remember that just because an artist is self-made and not very popular, doesn’t mean their work is any less. Just the fact that it has reached us- so far from the creator- means that it’s equal to, if not more than the work of the highly publicized artists. One such passionate, self-sufficient artist is Shane Healy.

Shane Healy hails from Boston, Massachusetts, and has grown up in the United States. He grew up in the middle of one of the most diverse continents and thus was always surrounded by different cultures and different music tastes. He explored his identity throughout his youth and like most artists often do- he relied on his art to explore and express himself! He realized that he was drawn most towards the R&B sector of music and gravitated towards it. His passion was to create so he let himself appreciate the genre and allowed himself to express himself in the songs he wrote and sang!

Shane has based his entire career on Instagram and has interacted with his fans to get where he is right now. He is a very positive and friendly person and it shows not only in his songs but also in his interactions and his Instagram posts! One of his posts is captioned as: ‘Life is really what you make of it, It’s whatever you write in your own history book, So whatever story you write, Make sure it’s good💯.’ He is satisfied with whatever he has earned through his caliber and motivates others to as well. He also mentioned in another post: ‘We only got 24 hours in a day, make sure to use that time wisely to your advantage. Just remember time does not stop for anyone. No matter what is going on in the world, you gotta make it happen regardless of any circumstances.’ His hard journey has made him able to deal with all sorts of circumstances yet he has a positive outlook with everything!
