Interview with Jason Gobardhan (@beerandmovies)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

I’ve always wanted to write and direct my very own movie. My friends and I started out with making sketches for YouTube.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

My friends and I went to the private premiere of one of our favorite director’s movies. We got to meet and chat with the director and some of the cast after the movie ended.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

Write your thoughts and ideas down as they come. Discuss these thoughts and ideas with friends, family, strangers, or literally anyone who will listen. Don’t be afraid to make an edit and make changes.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

My two best friends constantly motivate each other to keep trying to achieve our goals. It helps tremendously to surround yourself around like-minded people so they can help you on your journey.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

I do what I can but I prefer to do it anonymously. I don’t believe in bragging or showboating your good deeds.

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

One of my favorite life lesson quotes is from an obscure song from a mixtape by J Cole. “If they don’t know your dreams, then they can’t shoot me down.” It sort of goes along with my ideas about bragging about your good deeds, you keep your hopes and dreams known to just a select group of people so the haters stay out of your way.

How can our readers follow you on social media?

I’m just on Instagram at the moment @beerandmovies.
