Interview with Dr. Ryan William Delamater (@dr.rwd)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

In 2010 I completed a 10,000-mile bicycle ride thru 10 countries from Canada to Colombia and learned about water global inequality. I decided to start OCNWTR which installs small scale desalination systems in remote rural areas & villages along the coast. This enables people to get unlimited drinking water from the ocean for free.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

I’ve been asked to do work in 7 countries in the last 12 months!

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

I would recommend finding a pace that works for you and your family. There is a lifetime of work to do so the right pace is very important.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

Kurt Johnston. Ralph Moore. Mark Bell. My parents & at the top – my wife Maria Cruz. When your trying to make a difference the inner circle of support and loyalty is key.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

Providing a decentralized network that helps people get unlimited drinking water from the ocean.

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

Keep going! It’s been relevant in every single chapter. It’s all I know.

How can our readers follow you on social media?

You can follow me personally at dr.rwd & organizationally at “@ocnwtr”.
