Interview with Arthur Moore (@dkotic)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

Starting at the age of 8 years old I have been around music. My family is brought by singers. Music was always a passion, but never did I think I would be in an amazing situation. I started to really get serious with my music once I connected with the Platinum Recording Artist ” iHeartMemphis” who also goes by the name.

“iLoveMemphis”. (Creator of Viral – Song “Hit the Quan”) We worked on a song called “Lil Dance” which went viral on Tiktok, Instagram, Dubsmash, and more social media pages. I love music and I love to make people happy using my music.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

I have been surrounded by many well-known figures in my lifetime, and meeting a legend was first on my list. Networking with Post-Malone is a rare moment for anyone. Post Malone noticed me standing backstage after his concert and greeted me. He never realized that I am a fan of his work and went straight to wondering what my title was. I told him that I am an artist & let him listen to my music. He quickly then told me, “You are amazing keep it up, I am with you 100%, what do you call your supporters?” I told him, “Team Dkotic.” He then repeated after me, “Team Dkotic.” That was an amazing experience I will never forget.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

Many people are willing to work, but they are not consistent. With the music industry, you will have to stay focused on your craft. There will become distractions along the way but staying true to you will help in the future. There are so many artists that are focused on making money, but there are not realizing that the money will come will you are perfecting your craft.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

I have many mentors that helped me along the way, but CeoMiamiMike (Manager for Platinum Artists iLoveMemphis/iHeartMemphis & Soulja Boy) guided and taught me many helpful features in the business. I have traveled and surrounded myself in great situations because of him and I am very thankful to God for him.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

I have used my success to bring goodness through music. Starting with my song Lil Dance, which went viral on Tiktok, DubSmash, Instagram and etc, brought a lot of attention to the dance community. There were over 500,000 Videos made to the song, with over 3 Million Streams. The song was a success and it was all started with dancing. I think that dancing brings people together and I love the positivity from kids and even adults.

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

My favorite “Life Lesson Quote” is “GET TO IT NOW!”. If you aren’t doing whatever your craft is, at that moment. Someone else is doing it, and they can and will take the spot that was meant for you.
