Contrary to popular belief, the world of plastic surgery is not as superficial as it seems, there are many instances where plastic surgery can drastically change someone’s life for the better. Plastic surgery is different from cosmetic surgery and is used to repair and reconstruct missing or damaged tissue and skin. The main aim of plastic surgery is to restore the function of tissues and skin to as close to normal functioning as possible. Improving the appearance of body parts is an important but secondary, aim. When he was younger, Yazeed met several people who had gone through such procedures and was incredibly inspired by their stories. These people felt like they had been given a new life after their facial plastic surgery and this is pushed Yazeed to also pursue a career in Plastic Surgery.

Yazeed completed his Bachelors of Medicine from King Saud University in 2007 and then went on to get his MSc Degree in Otolaryngology (i.e. Head and Neck Surgery) from McGill University. He also completed his Advanced Rhinology and Skull Base Fellowship from the University of Toronto in 2015 and subsequently his Facial Plastic Fellowship from the same institute in 2016. Since completing his education, Yazeed has been practicing as an Otolaryngology and Facial Plastic Consultant in various hospitals such as Alhabib Hosptial in Dubai and Riyadh and KAMC in Riyadh. He is currently the Director of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery Residency Training program at KAMC, the Chairman of Facial Plastic Meeting, Dubai at MEOTO 2020, and is an Assistant Professor at King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS). He also has several publications in both national and international medical and research journals.

Yazeed is incredibly passionate about all the work that he does and finds it very rewarding to hear the success stories of his patients. A patient of his was on antidepressant medication because of a congenital deformity in her ear. Three months after Yazeed had performed her ear reconstruction surgery, she bought him a card accompanied by a box of chocolate to thank him and told him that she did not need her medication anymore! Instances like these lift his morale and keep him motivated to keep working hard and giving his best to his patients.

He regularly posts about the various procedures and surgeries he performs and the spectacular results he gets.
