Interview with Yazeed Alghonaim (@yalghonaim)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

I was inspired by the changes in life made by some facial touches done by plastic surgeons. I met people who described it as a new life since their procedure.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

A patient was on depression pills because of a congenital deformity in her ear. I did an ear reconstruction and after 3 months from the surgery, she brought a box of chocolate with a card saying: thank you doctor I’m off medication now!

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

Do what you love and you will never get burned out.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

All my masters who trained me in Canada specifically my mentors in Toronto. One of them told me; Yazeed I’m envisioning a bright future for you.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

To help maintain a good ethical practice which I believe affected and raised the level of a surrounding surgeon to be a better and higher quality surgeon.

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

Losers always make excuses; while winners make adjustments.
