Interview with Hyacinthe Hamon (@hyacinthehamon)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

My career started as a software engineer. I worked in many different countries: France, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, China, Japan, Australia. I used to work for big brands such as Dropbox, Samsung, Audi. I met my co-founder David last year, on a trip to Bali, Indonesia. We were neighbors living in a guest house. We started chatting and we clicked right away.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

We do the design and manage the production ourselves. Our glasses are just flying off the shelves in Bali. We have received so many compliments. Now we sell our glasses in almost all areas of the island.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

Make sure you are taking care of your mind and body. You’ll feel better about yourself overall as you stay in shape which will help you get energy and increased clarity of thought.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

I am very thankful to have my business partner David. He is so creative and always provides me with so much energy. He is always there when I’m feeling down. Together we are unstoppable.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

In my new optical business “Maison Mata”, we created a “buy one give one” campaign – which gives a pair of glasses to someone in need for every pair sold on the site. We managed to ship free glasses to people in need around the world, and we are now looking to partner with NGOs.

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

I don’t have a favorite life lesson quote, however, a core value of my business is to ‘hire good people’: people with integrity, a sense of gratitude, and confidence. I think surrounding ourselves with good people can really help us thrive.

How can our readers follow you on social media?
