Interview with Stefan Ross (@lilconscious)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

Honestly, my whole life music has always had a special place in my heart. I grew up struggling to handle my third eye and Music always calmed my energy. I found comfort in creating music. I’m different, every Artist is! But my presence and my energy is something you can feel through my music, my Instagram! It’s all there when you see it.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

I have so many! But personally, I would have to say meeting Trippieredd. Throughout my two years in the game I have linked up with a lot of major artists but hands down Trippieredd and Kodak Black were life-changing moments. I and Trippieredd watched YouTube about ourselves and sat there for hours smoking backwoods laughing.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

Wow, this is a good question! I’ve seen so many artists battle something like this, not to mention myself. Everyone has there a phase of burning out or wanting a break. There is nothing wrong with it. Take your time, enjoy nature, go on walks, and clear your mind. Everything will be in the same position as when you left.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

I have definitely had some help on the way. I remember I was starting out my career and I was probably at like 20K followers and I had started receiving a bunch of messages saying Drake played my song on his Instagram Live. Just within that first 24 hours of him showing my song I had probably gained about 80K followers. It was a huge boost to my career.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

I love to give back to my city and my people, it’s something I have always done since I was younger. Whether I had any money or all the money, I have always been here to help the world to be a better place.

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

It’s not really a life lesson quote but when I started rapping I had said “ I just do this shit for fun but don’t fuck with me because I’m on one” and it made me realize it doesn’t matter what anyone says I am my own person and I can be as great and as lame as I want to be.
