Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

My colleague (William, aka willow) and I (Tiam, aka T) are right now one of the biggest producer duos in Sweden, known as TMA. We started making music as kids at our local youth recreation center.

With a dream so big that we hardly dared to believe it. We created music because we enjoyed it, we quickly realized that music was something we would never do without. Everyone, we started off creating music together with eventually quit as time went on but I and my colleague continued, never giving up on our passion. Quickly we defied everyone’s expectations and actually started progressing rapidly. We felt over time that this wasn’t just a hobby, but a passion we couldn’t resist.

We evolved in our music producing and people started steadily changing their perception of our choice to stick with music. We began gaining notoriety in our own city. At about the same time we got in touch with one of Sweden’s then biggest hip hop musicians (@sebastianstakset85), this is when everything changed. We started producing and writing music for Sweden’s largest hip hop group, this quickly led to us becoming recognized hip hop producers all over Sweden. We then continued producing music for artists such as @dreelow, @officialz.e, @yasinthedon, @sebastianstakset85, @rickyyrich, @bl1zzy, @24k_musik, @jbofficial163, @ninebyouk, and many more.

We had great success in the Swedish music industry. We released 2 artist singles that went Gold (Willow – På väg, Kartellen – Rs6 Way of Life and many more) and Platinum (Willow – För er). In addition, we have produced singles that by now have gone Multi-Platinum(Yasin – Trakten min).

We launched our own record label after a while and signed our first artist called “Nineb Youk”. Our signed artist Nineb has today with our help also streamed gold and Multi-Platinum singles. All this from a simple dream we shared as kids. The dream is still alive in us and we plan to do so much more.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

One of the most interesting stories was from when we entered a Swedish music competition/show sponsored by “Redbull” and Sweden’s largest news site “Aftonbladet”, and won. The competition/show is called “Nästa Nivå” and Willow together with 3 other artists got picked to participate as artists on the show. Willow and the production team traveled to Paris, France to create a hit single while documenting the process of making the single for an online show. The single was then released after the program aired on national TV and ended up #1 on Spotify’s Swedish billboard list.

As a result of this, we then got booked to perform on Scandinavia’s largest amusement cruise where we were featured as the main act. We also went on Sweden’s largest TV channel (Nyhets Morgon, TV4) together with Sebastian stakset, where we performed live.

We essentially went from having been two young kids from a small town in Sweden to performing on Sweden’s largest TV channel (TV4) and going Platinum with a billboard hit. This was more than we ever could have imagined when starting our musical journey years ago.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

Try to enjoy every part of the journey, because that’s really what it’s all about. Don’t force anything, be okay with things taking the time. Make sure not to give up on yourself too fast and always believe in yourself. We usually have such high expectations and hopes but things rarely go as planned. Often things go better than expected and if they don’t, focus on what you can learn from this experience. If you work hard, success will happen over time.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

When we first signed with the record company “SoBlue Music Sweden” our manager Patrik Olsson aka “P.O.” told us something that really resonated with us “You have to earn it and work for it, to appreciate it”.

One story that comes to mind is when we flew out to Los Angeles to write music with some famous songwriters from Malibu CA (Nitanee Paris). We then called “P.O.” and asked for him to set up a meeting with Jay-z’s manager at Roc Nation, he responded by laughing and said “guys you have to do a lot more to get a meeting with them. It took me 25 years of hard work to get that connection and you have to earn it “.

P.O. managed to get one of our producer colleagues named “Stress” signed to Roc-Nation as a producer based on his connection with the label Roc-Nation.

That whole incident lit a new flame within us and resulted in us switching to the gear. We ended up submitting two singles to the Eurovision Song Contest as well as writing a song in Malibu CA (Bo Henrik – Worlds Away), which we then released via a major record company in Canada.

In conclusion, P.O. motivated us to further our development and really fight to deserve our success. We currently have a contract that will keep us in Sweden for now, but this is also where we want to be as we feel that we still have a lot to learn before eventually taking on the US music industry.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

We understand that music has a very real impact on people. Music can create a wide range of emotions. Music can for example help you weep when you’re going through a rough patch or it can lift people up while providing an escape from their current reality for the moment. Music can help set the mood and tone for people’s day and in extension their entire life.

We always strive to create music that makes people feel something. Aiming to create music that aids in processing feelings that people may not be in touch with.

We´ve always spread a message of love, happiness, and that it’s okay to be human enough to make mistakes. Essentially we always think about how we affect people, constantly aiming to be a part of the common responsibility to make each other feel good.

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

Our favorite quote is actually “Never give up” and “Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind”.

It may sound like a real cliché, but we are actual proof that most things work out if one only perseveres. When we were younger people laughed at us for choosing to make music, but we always choose to look the other way and never gave up on our passion. “Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind” helped us realise that the only thing that mattered was doing what we liked. Without this mindset, we would’ve never been able to achieve what we have done by now.

We are grateful today for the difficult trials that proved to us how much we really wanted this and how much we were willing to sacrifice in the pursuit of success. All this is because we “never gave up” on ourselves and stayed focused on what mattered to us, no matter what others thought.

How can our readers follow you on social media?

You can follow us on our Instagram where we are called “@Tmabeats”. You can also follow our Facebook (TMA Beats) page where we update followers about upcoming events and music releases.

We’ve been laying somewhat low on social media lately as we are right now working on our debut album as producers. We´ve been working very hard on this album and we’ll soon launch the project on both Instagram and Facebook.
