Interview with Pamela Whitlatch (@pamela_l_imperatrice)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

5 years ago, I went through a personal experience where I almost lost my life. If someone had told me I would be here today, I would have said no. But overcoming that experience; I felt like life gave me a second chance and I didn’t want to waste it. I started doing things that made me really happy, which was dressing up, playing with makeup, and taking pictures, I never knew that would turn me into a brand influencer.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

The most interesting thing that happens is using my platform to help others. Using my resources to help feed the less fortunate ones in my country is truly a blessing.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

It’s okay to disconnect sometimes and enjoy time with family and friends. For me, I just take one day off in the week where I stay off social media and focus on myself. Whether it’s just to enjoy a massage or a pedicure, do something that makes you feel good about yourself.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

I’m grateful to my mom who gave me the opportunity to live my American Dream when we moved to the United States. She is always here to support and encourage me with her unconditional love. And also the man in my life who plays the role of photographer and takes all my pictures lol.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

Yes. With my success, I have partnered with Raoul le Blanc who has a nonprofit organization in my hometown ( Lomé) where we help feed orphans. During the COVID pandemic, we distributed masks and hand sanitizers as well.

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

“Rock bottom became the solid foundation in which I rebuilt my life.” ― J.K. Rowling

I shared earlier with you how I had a near-death experience, followed by a long period of depression. At the point I had 2 choices, keep throwing myself pity parties, or fight back. I chose the second option and here I am today that’s why that quote is so important to me.
