Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
Young business owner, who owns 2 bubble tea stores in Chicago suburbs. Also, a lifestyle, travel, dog mom influencer.
Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?
A lot of people think I am just a part-time worker when I am at my stores. And people get really surprised when I tell them I’m the owner.
Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?
You’re not sure about your major? Career? You’re not the only one- Who knew I’d be doing my own business when I majored in Elementary Education?! I know one thing for sure, I’ve done what I’ve done so far—living and working abroad, traveling, and changing my career—because I am always open to new opportunities. It is not easy taking that leap of faith but I dare ask young women to do so because there is so much potential and so many good people alongside the bad who will be of helping hands. The world is still a beautiful place to have faith in so don’t be afraid of new challenges- be confident, believe in yourself, and be goal-driven. You will fail, you will have to move mountains along the way, but you will get there. In one way or another, you will get there. I promise.
None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?
My husband, Mervin, has always behind everything I do. He is my #1 supporter. Ever since I started my Instagram blogging, he’s been the photographer of a lot of the pictures. Back then, we were just dating, and after 4 years of dating, we got engaged and married.
How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?
Because I am a dog mom, I annually donate to local animal shelters in Chicago during Christmastime. It breaks my heart that there are so many pets that are still looking for a forever home.
Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?
“This, too, shall pass” – is my favorite quote. It applies to everything. You are going through some hardships? It will pass too. When I first started the business, it was definitely not easy since all I’ve done was teaching kids for five years. I didn’t know anything about business. But that, too, passed and I look at myself, thinking “wow, I made it this far already”.
