Interview with Lama Aggad (

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

I have always had a passion for media and TV presenting, but my bigger passion was computers and programming. Not realizing how much effect I can make in media towards my community in Canada and around the world. In Dec. 2009, I was laid off from my permanent job at SITA. Since that, I thought why don’t I try a career in media so I can be my own boss and not risk my career’s fate in the hands of the company. I took two certified in media presenting and talk show.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

I started volunteering for two years in a community program on Omni National Television here in Toronto until I became the sole owner of Lama TV show on Omni and Omni. 2 national television channels across Canada. I have been in the field for 10 years now.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

If you can’t find it, create it yourself… if you can’t find the job or career you like, create your own career world and enjoy yourself. No one deserves to leave their permanent jobs just because a company decided to make changes to the structure of the company.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

Family first, my parent and sibling were the ones who pushed me to pursue my path. My father was the one who paid for the courses I took to become and media presenter 10 years ago, without his help I would not be able to travel nor register in those courses. Also thanks to this Beautiful country Canada that blessed me with their nationality and helped me become a strong independent woman. I wouldn’t be that person if I was in a different country.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

Yes. In my show is inclusive to all backgrounds and races. It also focuses on humanitarian subjects, I also make sure to fight racism and injustices in support of women and feminism.

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

If you can not own their hearts, you will never be able to own them.
