Interview with Kenneth Scheriff (@saintscheriffmusic)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

Saint Scheriff began DJing at the age of 10 years old from watching his cousin at a family wedding. With this profession, he became an open format DJ for multiple companies in New York. With these companies, he was the DJ for over 700 events, such as weddings, sweet 16’s, mitzvah’s, and corporate events. The desire to become a music producer in high school had led him to his first record deal with Wolfrage Recordings under the name “Kenny Scheriff”. The track was titled “On The Rise”. From this record, Saint Scheriff moved on to playing in nightclubs, such as Pacha New York and Stage 48. Opening for artists like Hardwell, Dyro, and Juicy M, Saint Scheriff was able to gain experience in the nightclub scene playing the music he loved to play and people loved to hear. From college, Saint Scheriff went on to Garnish Music Production School to further his knowledge of the music production industry and to be inspired by other artists in the industry.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

I’d say the most interesting story would have to be working with artists from all around the world to deliver a product that can resonate with listeners. I’ve worked with artists from Sweden to Italy to the country of Georgia.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

Follow your dreams and believe in your vision. Although you may steer from your path, it’s important to recognize when you do and to continue to work and improve on your craft.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

I’m very thankful for my education team over at Garnish Music Production in Brooklyn, NY. From this academy, I was able to grasp the techniques necessary in order to create music and at an efficient pace. As far as the DJing aspect of my artist, I’ve had so many mentors over the years from DJ techniques to the business side of the spectrum.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

My success in music has resonated with listeners from across the globe. I have a very tropical, beach vibe to my music and I try to develop a message that the listener can relate to.

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

“If you want the rainbow, you must put up with the rain”. I prefer not to go into too much detail, but I think everyone fights diversity in their own way. What’s important is to remember who you are in your heart and how you treat other people. You should always want to see growth in yourself, but there will be some bumps along the road.
