Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
I have loved music my entire life. It’s such a big part of my everyday life, and I’ve always been passionate about writing. As I have gotten older, I finally found my voice and am able to articulate my emotions to tell beautiful stories and I’m very excited and optimistic about the future.
Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?
The most interesting story I can think of is honestly that I didn’t tell anyone I was pursuing music. I haven’t told any of my friends or family, just because I don’t like judgment. Don’t get me wrong, I have supportive friends and family, I just don’t want anyone’s input that could make me negatively view anything I’m trying to achieve. I don’t wanna hear how impossible it is, I don’t wanna hear that I’m not good enough, I don’t want anyone’s thoughts or opinions. I just want to do something for myself and to absolutely love it. The day I’m not happy about writing or singing, is the day I will stop.
Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?
I would tell colleagues to not be so obsessive, to enjoy moments, and to take everything in. I would also say to try not to make everything be so perfect and calculated because the end product comes out as inauthentic, and it tortures you in the process. You burn yourself out when all you do is think about success and fame, it can be overwhelming. Just take things as they come and realize nothing will ever be perfect and accept that.
None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?
I’m grateful for all aspiring musicians. I know several, and their dedication to their craft is something so beautiful. Honestly, that is what has driven me to want this so bad. There are so many artists out there that have some of the most beautiful music in the world, and it’s not being heard. I want to fight for that, and if I make it, bring awareness to these artists and use my platform for discovery and creation. My main goal in all of this is connection. If I have one fan that sings my songs, that is enough for me. If there’s one person’s life I change, that is enough for me. That is what helps push me along and brought me to where I’m at today.
How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?
I don’t like to overshare too much, in regards to what I do to help in the world. I am a private person and do not need or seek validation or praise from anyone. There’s so much scrutiny these says toward public figures, even if they’re doing a good thing. Let’s say I do acknowledge a donation I’ve made or bring awareness to something, it could be seen as me trying to boost my reputation, that I’m not giving enough, or why am I not doing more. I will always use my platform to bring awareness to causes, I just won’t share too much about what I personally do, but will always talk about what we can all do together to make a change. I am also planning several future projects that mix promotion by doing good in the world.
Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?
My favorite life lesson that I still am realizing every day, is that everything happens for a reason. My mom taught me this, and when using this mindset, it can help you get through so many things. Always have perspective when life gets you down, and realize there’s a light at the end of a tunnel. Everything could be worse, nothing lasts forever, make the most of what you can, and always live your life being the best person you can be. I’ve had to learn so many things the hard way in my life, and I’m finally in a headspace that’s so good for my mental health and so necessary for a happy life.
