Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
As a mother of two young children, I was looking for work that I could do that was flexible and well paid and would work around my family. When I couldn’t find it, I decided to create my own job and launch a business helping other mothers find flexible, well-paid work by upskilling with social media.
Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?
When the Coronavirus hit the UK, I decided to run a 4-part, 2-week free training programme. Over 4,000 women signed up! Over 1,000 women completed the free training and our Podcast, ‘Sparkle and Thrive’ hit #1 on the charts for Marketing on 27 April 2020. It felt amazing to give back in such a difficult time for so many people.
Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?
In 2019, I decided that my theme for the year was going to be #SparkleAndThrive – it was important to me that I stop ‘surviving’ as a business owner and start ‘thriving’ instead. I made a ton of changes to my business, I signed up for online courses to tackle pain points in my business. I also signed up to a mastermind with other online course creators to hold me to account and help me to make positive moves with my schedule to spend more time with my family and less time working ALL while at the same time growing my business.
None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?
There are 2 women who I admire greatly. The first is Dame Stephanie Shirley, a woman who during WWII escaped the Nazis and came to live in England. She went on to create an incredible business that employed women working from their kitchen tables coding (they coded the original black box). When her company went public, she made 100 women millionaires overnight. She did all of this while raising a severely autistic child. The second is Amy Porterfield, it was through doing her course, Digital Course Academy, that I was able to skyrocket my business, without her training, I never would have been able to train 1000 women (with confidence!).
How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?
We have provided free training for over 2000 women in the UK and have helped over 450 women return to work, change careers, or start a business.
Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?
