Matthew has always been a fan of science-fiction and got very interested in the idea of Artificial Intelligence and how it connects to humanity. This obsession lead to years of research on ideas like the technological singularity – a hypothetical point in time at which artificial intelligence would exceed and overpower human intelligence; and later, he started writing stories on the problems he imagines would exist in such a reality. He aims to write adventurous stories about dystopian worlds that also touch upon the social justice aspect of things, and tackling issues like classism, discrimination, civil rights, political power, and mass media manipulation to name a few. After Matthew’s first sci-fi novel “I am Waltz” was published in 2018 and received amazing reviews from readers around the world. Before publishing “I Am Waltz”, Matthew contributed in and was a co-author for two books, titled “Strokes of Confidence” in the book “Harvest time” and “Helen” in the book “Salem Cemetery”, which were published in 2012 and 2013 respectively.

“I Am Waltz” is the first book in a sci-fi trilogy, and was published on the 2nd of June, 2018. Before the book was released, Matthew uploaded a trailer of the book on YouTube in 2017, which has gained more than a hundred thousand views by now! According to its description, the book is a sci-fi thriller set in a dystopian world, where everything is controlled by robots who work under an organization named IRIS. The world is almost crime-free, the only exception being the actions of anti-Artificial Intelligence groups that are labeled as terrorist organizations. The story follows the quest of the protagonist, Kyle Conscentia, who comfortably lives his life in the Nevada desert along with his father. In a turn of events, Kyle is framed by the media for an action he did not do, and he only has a fugitive robot who can defend his innocence. Thus Kyle has to undergo a journey to clear his name but uncovers a dark truth in the process. Even from the excerpt, the book sounds very gripping and must surely be a page-turner. The E-book costs only $7.99, while the paperback costs $14.99. There is also a signed paperback edition available (on sale) for $29.99. In 2018, “I Am Waltz” ranked as the 18th best book in the robot science fiction genre. On Amazon, the book has a rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars, while on Goodreads the book has a rating of 4.1 out of 5 stars. The book is available internationally on multiple platforms, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Target, Walmart, Inkshares, Apple Books, Google Store, and many others.

Apart from novels, Matthew has also produced and co-written a feature film titled “Teenage Badass”. The film was set to world-premiere at the famous SXSW film festival in 2020. After the SXSW festival, the film was also slated to screen at the Phoenix Film Festival and the RiverRun International Film Festival. However, due to the recent global coronavirus pandemic, all of these festivals were canceled, hence the premiere was delayed. If all these achievements weren’t grand enough, the film was also nominated for the SXSW Grand Jury Award! According to reviews on the film, Teenage Badass is a witty Rock Comedy that follows the story of a struggling teenage drummer who wishes to join a rock band and jumps at an opportunity when it appears for him. Later, the storyline evolves into endearing comedy as the band faces a lot of struggles and tensions within the team, but eventually gets their “big break”.

With the numerous amazing accolades and reviews it has received even before the official release date, the film is sure to be a hit!
