Interview with Mike Maschina (@mike_maschina)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

Michael Maschina was born in Vienna, Austria. His enthusiasm for filmmaking started while he was a child and shot his first movies with a handheld camera and his friends, trying to remake his favorite movie. His first short movie “SIC”, shot with friends and a very low budget, has been nominated to film festivals around the world. In 2016 he founded the production company RUMA Entertainment and started producing his first professional short movie “JONAH”.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

After my movie career, I started working in the real estate business and founded my company RUMA Estate which now is over 10 MIO in assets already. My plan is to be one of the big players in the Austrian real estate business.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

I’m working out in the gym each day, 7 times a week. This keeps my mind clear.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

I had a lot of important mentors along my path- but I always see myself as my own most important mentor. If you can grow yourself – you won already.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

In my first short movie Jonah was actually about the refugee crisis back in 2015.
