Interview with Janay Alexis Stewart (@envy_doll)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

I have been an animal activist as well as an influencer for exotic travel for a few years now. I also do brand modeling for icon swim and a few other independently-owned businesses. Taking photos as well as animals and travel has always been my passion. I have always had a genuine love for animals as well as their well being. I like do tutorials from time to time doing my makeup for my followers to see. I would like to consider myself a people person.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

I was invited to be a guest at Malibu wine safari due to using animal lover hashtags on Instagram. When I arrived at the safari I got to meet an amazing giraffe by the name of Stanley and took some great photos. I also was asked by a very well known brand icon swim to post in their swimsuits for compensation.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

Interact with your followers and be kind. It is important to be yourself and try to uplift others. People love to see positivity.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

My mother has always been my biggest inspiration. She is the one that put me in acting and modeling workshops since I was a child which led me to pursue my dreams of modeling and pursuing beauty and makeup.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

I always repost different influencers who are promoting certain causes and giving insight. I tend to repost Karmagawa a wildlife non-profit organization. I like to spread awareness throughout the world in reference to our planet and animals being in jeopardy. I promote being a positive light in the world and always appreciating what you have in life even if it isn’t much.

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

“Never let the fear of Striking out keep you from playing the game “ – Babe Ruth

This quote is relevant to my life because it means never be scared to try something due to the fear of failure. You never know unless you try.
