Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

Ever since I was a little kid, I’ve always been interested in makeup and social media. I never realized that I could potentially make a career out of it until now. Instagram is a wonderful place to start your career and be able to be yourself. It’s a place where you can express yourself freely. When I was a child growing up I was always scared to be myself and be true to who I am as a person. When I finally started my account on Instagram I was excited to showcase the real me. It taught me to become confident and be who I am today.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

The most interesting story that happened to me since I started using Instagram was when I took a trip down to Texas to visit some of my old friends. As soon as we landed at the airport I was waiting for my luggage at the baggage claim, and I can remember it like it was yesterday. A little girl came up to me and showed me her phone, and it was my Instagram account! I mean, I couldn’t believe it! To be able to share and create content and become a role model for kids is so amazing!

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

I go by four rules to help my Instagram stand out.

  1. ALWAYS SPREAD POSITIVITY – never be cruel to one another, it doesn’t help in the long run.
  2. BE CONFIDENT – if you’re not confident in what you do it can be very hard to create good content for your followers. I’ve struggled with this rule for a long time. It takes time to build confidence it doesn’t happen overnight, be patient with it. Which brings me to the most important rule.
  3. BE PATIENT – it takes time to build up a following. Don’t let the pressure of society get to you if you don’t reach a certain number of likes or followers. It takes time to build a following until then post content for those supporting you already, and eventually you build your brand.
  4. BE YOURSELF – don’t create content just because someone says “oh, nobody will like that because…” post content that stays true to who you are, and not because it fits into society’s standards. Your job as an influencer is to create content expressing yourself in the best way possible.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

My best friend is a person who I’ll always thank for helping me reach my success. Without her, I would have strayed from being myself and her lazy with the content I post. Without her, I would’ve lost the motivation to create new content. I have to thank my followers as well for all of the support they have given me since creating my Instagram. They push me to create new content and give me the motivation I need to keep perusing my career.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

I believe that I have brought goodness to the world while using my success. Being a role model to other makeup artists, I’ve been able to see them flourish from when they first started. I always get tagged in other people‘s makeup posts and it just shows how powerful it is to be a role model and helping other people express themselves for being unique.

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

My favorite life lesson quote is “You gotta stop watering dead plants.“ – Sonam Vora Shah.

The reason why this is my favorite quote is that it acknowledges the fact that there are people out there who will do there best to break you down. Every time I’ve ever posted something on social media there‘s always that one person that tries to get you down, and if you let it get to you and start an argument with the person in the comment section or even in a direct message it could potentially hurt you and your career in the future. I made that mistake not long ago and it ended up with the messages being spread around. The best thing you can do is ignore it, delete it, or report it. Don’t let it get to you, because you don’t know what’s going on in there life at the moment. It’s best to not contact that person otherwise you’re watering their plant.

How can our readers follow you on social media?

You can follow me on Instagram @aidan.redmann where I’ll be posting new makeup looks and content that will keep you updated on my life! My main goal is to be true to myself and be a role model for anyone out there looking to become the next inspiration to other people.
