Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
Music was always my way to truly express my emotions. To me, music is my way to vent and let anything that is pressing my heart out. I love opening up to people about my experiences and music is my favorite way to do that.
Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?
To me, the best thing that has happened to me was meeting my best friend and current music partner, Donnie Aki. There is just something about us writing a song that makes it so amazing. We are able to get our true thoughts out and both push each other to succeed. We have been through everything together these past months including moving to Florida then Los Angeles within 4 months to follow our dream.
Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?
Have passion. You have to love what you are doing and the drive to keep grinding. People think the music world is a hard life to live. I’ve spent countless all-nighters working on beats and writing lyrics but it’s all because I love it. At the end of the day, you have to love what you are doing. It helps long healthy and having the support of people close to you.
None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?
My best friend Donnie and my ex-girlfriend are the reasons for who I am today and the deepness of the lyrics I am writing today. I can remember when I first started dating my ex-girlfriend I had so many deep feelings that I’ve never expressed and I had music to express that. She really made me excited to do what I do. I remember in the Hamptons she was helping me write a new song and it really brought out how I feel which helped our relationship. I’ve never felt so in love with a girl so I couldn’t express that in normal words. I only could do it through music. Donnie also helped bring all of that out of me. He’s honestly a brother to Metz we’ve lived together for months. But ya We really want to connect to our fans. Donnie and I wrote our first single together ever and recorded it within 35 hours and it was about our feelings towards our girlfriends at the time. We never really expressed our love to girls till we took music seriously as weird as that may be.
How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?
I want to spread love and happiness to everyone that listens to my music. My goal when I’m making a song is to show my true emotions and give the ability to anyone that listens to it, to connect to it. That’s my favorite part of the music. Connecting with the fans and giving them hope and to let them know it’s ok to feel how you feel.
Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?
I can’t think of a quote but ever since September really I’ve lived by the motto of doing what’s best for my future and truly give every day like it’s my last. Furthermore not caring what everyone thinks. While I was growing up I always was a follower, to be honest. Ever since I’ve been doing what’s best for me and the people I love. Life has gotten so much easier and I am much happier
