Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
I started acting when I was just a little girl, my mother is a director and ignited that passion within me at a young age. I decided to take that passion and apply it to my college endeavors and received my BA in performing arts from the University of Tampa.
Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?
When I was 19 years old, I was given the opportunity to come to LA and intern with Lora Kennedy at Warner Bro’s. Lora was the head of feature casting at the time, and was casting several major films! It was an incredible experience that taught me how the casting process worked, which definitely helped me when I decided to move out to LA, 3 years later to pursue my career in acting and producing.
Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?
I would recommend really taking the time to partner up with people who you feel have strengths where you may be weaker. Partnerships in this industry are so important for longevity and success. We can’t get to the top alone!
None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?
There are several people I can sincerely thank for helping me get where I am today. Mainly, my mom, for always being my cheerleader and being willing to brainstorm new connections and creative ways to become successful. Luke Daniels, an indie film producer, who was my mentor for several years while I was getting into the production side— he is responsible for helping me get those very vital first credits as a producer and really showing me how it all gets done. My husband, Patrick, he’s always encouraging me to never give up and helps me read scripts to decide which roles and films are best suited for me!
How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?
I think entertainment is a beautiful thing. Even in the darkest of times, people have used plays, movies, music to keep the morale up, to keep them going, and if I can bring a source of entertainment, I have done my job and filled my purpose here on earth.
Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?
“Make it a goal to hustle for your soul with the same stealth you hustle for your wealth.” I think that in the hustle of life, we lose sight of the things that bring us joy sometimes and we get lost in the endeavor of making money to survive, for things, to pay our bills, and for experiences. We forget to enjoy ourselves in this very short adventure called life, and it’s important to stop and smell the roses once in a while! Do something you love at least once a day!
