Interview with Bryan Raphael (@IAmSmooth_)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

Umm, well once I started to realize the power or impact rather I had on my community and people around me. From either being a captain in athletics to just being a leader, in general, I started to just speak out on social issues affecting people that can relate to me. Then with that offer guidance or guidelines as a life coach to help people better themselves or their career. From there, things took off.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

Nothing really stands out more than any other, really all on the same lines. If I decide to speak on social issues or what’s on my mind, the feedback on how it helps whoever gets through their day or even a difficult moment. So mainly the positive feedback.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

I would recommend, taking your time finding your niche and not to worry about failing or not being liked. Everything takes time and at first, it will be rough but stay true to your reasons for starting, you want to help others. Also always review material before you put it out or consult.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

Yes, a few people but I’ll definitely go with my brother. There are times where I felt like I wasn’t getting anywhere or reaching anyone. Or some of those I was currently helping were having a rough time adjusting to changes recommended, made me feel I could be wrong. But he helped me stay focus and reassured me constantly everything takes time and the result will show.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

Well, I haven’t gotten to the world yet, but with being real with my viewers and by not sugar-coating issues that I’m asked to give my opinion on may bring clarity. Besides that using my success helps me highlight my failures, to allow people to know it’s ok to fail it’s apart of building to success. And giveaways especially back to school time.

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

Two heads are better than one. How I got here, it was just an idea that I could help others with my views & opinions. I didn’t believe it but people close to me like my brother, girlfriend to name two people to put together their ideas/concepts to encourage me to speak out and be a life coach.
