Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
It all started out when I was in Middle School and began to produce instrumentals using GarageBand. As the years went on I continued to work on my producing and eventually bought better equipment and top-of-the-line software such as Logic Pro X. My instrumentals were published to my SoundCloud which accumulated to over 5,000 fans and later were recognized by DJ King assassin. Assassin is a fellow producer for Tupac. After being recognized, motivation skyrocketed and I wanted to continue doing more than just producing. I ended up starting to DJ and getting into the live streaming industry. It all started when I was on one of the largest live streaming apps called LiveMe back in April of 2016. I ended up doing very well on the app acquiring a verification badge and over 275,000 fans. People love my talents and never want me to turn away from the music industry. I get told by fans on LiveMe and Instagram that I’m an inspiration to them. Things like that keep me motivated. When I became successful on live me I ended up taking it to other live streaming platforms such as MeetMe and ended up getting a top badge on there as well. I ended up taking my fan base from the live streaming platforms and helped migrate them to my Instagram. Today I’ve accumulated over 102,000 fans and I am still growing today. I am also featured on two celebrity websites such as famous birthdays and celebs money, both located on my website. The link is on my Instagram bio. I also created a clothing line on my website which was also requested from fans. I’m excited to see what the future holds for me in the industry!
Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?
The most interesting story was when I became verified on the biggest live streaming platform called LiveMe. I never thought I would be verified but with hard work, the dream came true. It was also interesting that I was able to get over a quarter million fans on the platform. Also having my Beats recognized by someone who used to produce for Tupac is insane! Lastly, I was featured on a broadcast with the famous rapper Too $hort. There are pictures on my Instagram profile proving it. He also recognized my DJing talents and was really impressed.
Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?
The advice I give is to never give up and keep chasing your dream until you can’t chase it anymore. You never know when the last day of your life is so never giving up chasing your dreams. I had many times in my life where I thought I could never get verified on other platforms or become big on them and have a lot of fans. But with lots of commitment and hard work, it proved that anything can be possible.
None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?
My dad’s a DJ and played in a band as a kid. Music runs in my family and I am grateful that they have that in their life. I also want to give a shout out to all the DJs such as Marshmello, Martin Garrix, Skrillex, and Slushii. I always looked up to those DJs and always said to myself, someday I’ll be like them!
How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?
I’ve used my success to influence others to try to find their talents. Every broadcast that I do I tell people to find their talents and to share it in my live streams. I love to help people achieve their dreams like I did so that they can remember me down the road. I think it’s very important in life to lead by example and becoming an influence in the music industry is very important. I love it when people come up to me on the streets saying my name and asking me DJ questions. I feel honored and humbled every time I hear it!
Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?
My favorite life lesson quote is, “Where there’s a will, there’s a way.” I always look back on this quote every time I felt down about my djing early in my career. One thing I stuck to was never giving up. Eventually, I found a way through my will of doing what I loved to do with music every day. The hard work definitely paid off at the end with the success from the platforms mentioned earlier.
