Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
When I was a chubby little kid I used to record myself singing into my boom box. I figured out that if you used 2 boomboxes at once, you could do a sort of rudimentary, multi-track recording. I have been fascinated with recording and creating ever since. I always wanted to do a podcast, and when I decided to have bariatric surgery, I knew the time was right.
Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?
I have had the chance to speak with and become rather close with, some truly amazing people.
Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?
Don’t put imaginary pressure on yourself. No one has this podcasting thing quite figured out yet, so don’t think you HAVE to do anything any specific way. Find your niche and work it.
None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?
I was inspired by guys like Mudhustler, who is, like me, a male working in a predominantly female world. He was able to get a clear message and brand across and I strive to do the same.
How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?
I hope so. I have toyed with ending the podcast several times, but without fail I seem to get messages from my listeners at the exact right moment, telling me what an impact the show has had. That keeps me going.
Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?
My favorite lesson comes, rather pretentiously, from Socrates, who (in a highly paraphrased way) said that the smartest man is the one who can admit that he knows nothing. I try to live by that and always stay open to learning.
