Interview @ BOS Elektro BV

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

Of course, I was always interested in electronics and in technical solutions, it inspired me to solve technical problems especially on building sides! I decided to join the family business when I was 16. Currently working for 3 years now! The business Bos Elektro is specialized in power solutions. The job that my dad offered helped me bring the next level to get my skills in technical solutions.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

I did a lot of interesting things, from driving on the runway from Amsterdam Airport for checking out our power solutions to business trips in China and Hong Kong. But the story I am proud of the most is the complete design and management of special power boxes for the NAVO army. I ran the whole process from checking out the barracks finding the problem to designing the product. For designing, I had to go to Hong Kong twice finding all the little spare parts. After designing the product (without any 3D skills!). We managed to produce the power boxes in time for the special operations of the army. This specific project is very special because becoming a supplier of the NAVO is not an easy task!

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

Keep finding solutions! There is always a problem, just manage to get the problem insight and find the correct solution.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

As I told the business I am in is a family business. My granddad started the business when he was 45. He started in his barn making power boxes. He managed to create the business from the bottom up to where we are now! For this, he even received a special Dutch distinction (Order of Orange-Nassau).

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

By creating solutions and quality for our customers. The quality we deliver people rely on because we can offer this quality, we are able to keep/save lives. Think about the army or airport story! When something goes wrong, I don’t even wanna think about it!

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

“You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.” – Mae West This is absolutely my life quote! You always have to enjoy what you do, have, accomplished and don’t focus on your mistakes. Of course, we all make mistakes, but you have to move on because you never know when life will end. This is really the way I live. I think it is really important because it doesn’t matter if you are rich or poor you have to live the way you want to, and I believe if you do you will end where you want to end!

How can our readers follow you on social media?

Currently, I am using Instagram, I had it a long time but not actively posting. You can follow me or check out what I am doing in my daily life: @bennieejj. Of course, you can ask me questions on the channel or any other related information.
