Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
Waseem Zaakar Hyman (born December 20, 1996), known professionally as Waseem X is an R&B singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur from Phoenix, Arizona. In 2019 Waseem founded his first luxury fashion brand called MONARCHS™. When Waseem started out, his passion for helping others feel more valued drove him to start designing his own luxury fashion brand, and gave him the motivation to turn hard work and inspiration into to a booming online fashion store where he now serves customers all over the world and is thrilled to be a part of the luxurious wing of the fashion industry.
Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?
Since I’ve started working in the fashion industry, I’ve gotten the opportunity to meet great new people and learn a lot more about the fashion business. It’s a good feeling to see an idea take physical form and fully manifest. The milestones I set for my business we’re all reachable through hard work and dedication and I expect to continue to reach more milestones and one day make a difference in the world.
Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?
Some tips I would recommend others who are on the same path are to always thank God for your success. Stay focused and never give up. Be consistent, plan, implement, review and adjust. Never be afraid to meet new challenges either because at the end of each challenge is the success and rewards gained from it that will help you on the next level, and most importantly be patient, don’t rush things. It’s important to know when to relax and when to work. Set a schedule for yourself that you can follow so you don’t burn out and stick to it.
None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?
I have a lot of people I’m grateful for. I’ll start by thanking the most importantly to the God. Without him I wouldn’t be where I am right now, and all praise is due to Allah. I would also like to thank my Family. They have all been so supportive and are the reason why I have so much drive when it comes to working hard and succeeding. At the end of the day I want to be able to know I can take care of them and any of the people I love. My friends have also been another driving force for my success. Knowing I have their love and support means the world to me. One day I want all of us to run businesses together and create wealth we can share with our families and communities.
How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?
In 2020 I will be using my success to start programs in Arizona and Nationwide to help improve communities by investing in programs that will educate the youth and adults who are seeking to start their own businesses. These programs will include everything an entrepreneur needs to know to help the process of starting, growing, and maintaining their own businesses. I will also use my success to allow people to do for self and better their communities by taking actions to prohibit the use of drugs, alcohol, violence, and the mistreatment of women by promoting peace, healthy diets, exercise, education and more.
Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?
I heard from my father say this to me a lot “One day you’re going to be sick and tired of being sick and tired” and I realized how right he was when I was down and out because of my bad habits that did nothing for me except ruin me. After reprogramming and reprogramming my mind to think and be better I then learned that life is what I make it and I have to do right in order to live a good and long life.
